What’s your cancellation policy?
We reserve the right to withhold a cancellation fee based on the full booking amount as follows:
0 – 6 days before arrival: 100% of deposit
7 – 14 days before arrival: 50% of deposit
15 – 29 days before arrival: 25% of deposit
30+ days before arrival: 10% of deposit
A 10% admin fee will be levied on any refunds processed.
How much is the deposit?
We require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking.
When is my booking confirmed?
Your booking is only confirmed when we have received confirmation of your deposit. Any deviation from this is at the discretion of management.
Are you small children friendly?
YES, parents are however requested to keep a close watch on their children as the property has extensive garden areas on different levels, big trees, garden ponds, and an unfenced swimming pool. We do not offer a childminding service and parents remain responsible for their children’s whereabouts at all times.
What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:00. If you would like to start your day earlier, we will gladly supply a road trip snack pack.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Master & Visa Credit Cards, as well as EFT payments. (DaJune Restaurant, Nedbank – Current Acc., Branch Code: 198765, A/C no: 1185767479)
How old is the guest house?
Tatenda has been serving the tourist industry since 1999 and saw the current owners Brian & Gerda Chambers take over in July 2018.
What is the climate like in Hazyview?
The average daily maximum temperatures range from 22.5°C in June to 29.1°C in January. The region is the coldest during July when the mercury drops to 7.2°C on average during the night. We normally receive about 765 mm of rain per year, most of it during summer with January having the highest monthly average of 139 mm. Winter is our dry season with only about 3 mm average in June (as per SAExplorer website).
How far is Tatenda from God’s Window?
Only 50 km, +/- 45 min drive.
Do you have wild animals on the premises?
Yes, we have vervet monkeys, bushbabies and a variety of birds frequenting our garden. Please DO NOT FEED any of them. Never leave food unattended outside, as it will result in wildlife, especially monkeys, becoming aggressive towards guests.
Do I need cash for the Panorama Route?
Yes, many of the Panorama route attractions accept cash only. Please make provision before heading off as ATM’s are not available throughout the area.
What time does Kruger Park gates open?
Nov to Feb 05:30 – 18:30, Mar/Oct 05:30 – 18:00, May to Jul 06:00 – 17:30, Apr/Aug/Sept 06:00 – 18:00
Is malaria a risk factor?
Although Hazyview is considered a low-risk area and no anti-malarial drugs are necessary, we advise that you use your own discretion in this regard. For further information: https://www.santhnet.co.za/
What is your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is from 14:00 – 19:00. Later check-ins by prior arrangement. Check-out is strictly by 10:00. This might seem inconvenient to some, but necessary to give our staff enough time to prepare all rooms for check-in by 14:00.
Are the rooms service daily?
Yes, all rooms are tidied every day and for longer staying guests, the linen and towels are changed every 3rd day.
Is the pool area open to all guests?
Yes, the Pool and adjacent deck/lapa is a communal area and open for all Tatenda guests to enjoy.
Are day visitors allowed?
No, there are no communal ablutions on site and our facilities are for checked-in guests only.
Are guests allowed to invite visitors?
Yes, limited day visitors by prior arrangement with management, as we must always remain mindful of not unduly disturbing fellow guests. Inviting guests to stay the night is subject to availability and prior arrangement, and will be charged for at our published rates.
Is loud music allowed?
Within reason yes, as we are located in a residential area and need to consider the comfort of other guests and neighbours. All noise to be limited after 22:00.
What is your lost and found policy?
Any personal items found after check-out will be labelled and kept at reception. We will contact you via phone or email to arrange collection. All items not claimed within 6 months of departure, will be disposed of.
Do you have a tipping/gratuity policy?
If you are happy with the service you received, you are most welcome to show your gratitude. Please give any contributions to management so that it can be distributed equally amongst the staff.
What is your smoking policy?
All our rooms and lounge/dining areas are strictly non-smoking. Please use ashtrays provided and refrain from disposing of cigarette butts in the garden.
